How do I delete a … ?
You might notice there is no delete button anywhere, which is probably what drove you to this tutorial. That’s because deleting something is so simple we didn’t need a button (and there’s no truth to the rumor that we couldn’t find anywhere to put it).
To delete an object, simply click it to select it and press the Delete key on your keyboard. You’ll know that you’ve selected an object because there will be a marquee of marching ants surrounding the object, like the picture to the left.
So to delete an event, just click it in the timeline or on the desktop and press delete. To select a timeline, click somewhere on the timeline that isn’t an event and delete. And to select a matchup, select the button at the top of the page that says matchup.
By the way, deleting a matchup doesn’t delete the timelines from the desktop, nor does it delete the timelines from the matchup. All that’s happened is that you are no longer editing that matchup.
If you want to clear everything off the desktop very quickly, just click on the desktop where there isn’t anything else and press delete. Et voilà, everything is gone.
There are some restrictions, however. You can’t delete an object while another object is being edited. So save the changes to the other object first.
Won’t I be changing history if I delete an event?
Yes, yes you will, and with great power, yadda, yadda. Because you’re so concerned, you might want to take a look at this.
